I work with BYUI often! This year, I collaborated with Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYUI) in Rexburg. Rooted in the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, BYUI has unique code of ethics, particularly regarding music. While most of the tracks I play at other college events wouldn't pass muster here, this challenge has always made the event more memorable.
To ensure compliance with their standards, I dedicated roughly 20 hours to vetting music and lyrics. Much of the mainstream radio tracks was off-limits due to explicit content, drug or alcohol references, or themes incongruent with the school's ethos. As a DJ, i feel it is important for me to honor and adhere to my client's directives. For this occasion, I was entrusted with curating three hours of wholesome, enjoyable music for the students, and I'm delighted to report that it was a resounding success.
An additional perk of partnering with BYUI is their adept in-house team for Sound, Lighting, Staging, and Video production. While the music curation process demanded careful attention, once on-site, my role was simply to relish the event and ensure a memorable experience for all attendees.
We work for multiple colleges in Utah as well. Including Utah State University Eastern & Weber State.
