You DJ in Price? Yep!
By DJ Cam Reeve
It always turns heads when I get talking to people and they ask me about the places I enjoy DJing. One of the places I DJ at that most people don’t expect is Price, Utah. I’ve been down to Price multiple times over the years for a few conferences. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to DJ for Utah State University Eastern’s student body. Whether the event is small and laidback or large and high energy, the people in Price have a vibe that keeps me coming back.
I have the chance to DJ in Price anywhere from 2-3 times a year and I’ve come to love the area. For those that don’t know me, I originally found my love for music and DJing in the country genre. In fact, I started DJing through country music!. Do I DJ a lot of country-centric events now? Not really, but I love the small town feel of Price and the fact that it is full of incredible people who work hard in their businesses. Even more, what I enjoy about this area is that I get to play a truly open format set. Everything from top 40 bangers to country hits, no matter the event, always go over well.
One of my favorite events I have DJed in Price in the past few years is Utah State University’s ‘Through the Ages’ dance. Now, if you're familiar with Utah State Easterns population, then you’ll know they have roughly 1500-2000 students. The student body is not crazy big and attendance of the events is not crazy big either. Despite the smaller size, the students that are active and who attend these events are so much fun! I can play everything when it comes to music, from Frank Sanatra, all the way to Drake, from Earth Wind and Fire to Metallica. I can remember getting in the van after an event one night to make my trek home and thinking “Why can’t every event be this fun?” The students loved everything about it! To top it all off, everyone was kind and the event went off without a hitch.
It’s really fun when I get to work at events like this one because everyone is there to simply enjoy the journey. I get to be a DJ and perform at my best because there are no boundaries and I can play music for everyone. As a DJ, I appreciate when both clients and crowds are open to new music and embracing what every genre offers. For those that I work with who understand this mentality, their events are elevated to a new level of energy and excitement that most partygoers don’t get to experience.
If you’re the kind of person who is looking for a truly open-format DJ who pushes the boundaries of what’s possible, please reach out to me through my contact form.
