For over four years, I've had the pleasure of working with Weber State University, a hub of diverse events and a fun student life. This year, we've been a part of two events so far: 'Welcome to the Wildcat Jungle' and the 15th 'Foam Bash' anniversary.
"Late Night at Weber" remains one of my favorites each year. This year, I introduced my brand-new Line Array Speakers, which brought me immense joy. The setlist, featuring artists like Latto, Ol' Dirty Bastard, and J Balvin, catered to the diverse tastes of the freshman crowd, spanning genres from Latin and Pop to EDM and Hip-hop.
Transitioning from the intimate setting of the Wildcat Jungle to the Foam Bash was like shifting gears on a musical highway. This year's bash, attended by approximately 1,400 students, faced logistical challenges, including weather and time constraints. However, with the expertise of Brady, Keaton, Nic, and our stage techs, the event went off seamlessly. While I was DJing at Lagoon for an IFIT event, DJ Matty Mo took over the Foam Bash's decks. His electrifying set, highlighted by an Afro Beat track, deeply resonated with the audience. Given Weber's diverse culture, I believe Matty did an exceptional job considering that in his set.
The 2023-2024 season promises excitement. Beyond Weber State, my team and I are venturing into events at USUE and BYUI, with potential collaborations in both northern and southern Utah. Every student body offers a unique music taste and that's the beauty of being a DJ. It’s never the same night twice!
