DJING AT LAGOON WITH IFIT

If you're part of a company, you understand when I say there are some events you look forward to time and again. I love Djing at Lagoon! As a DJ, I play at amazing spaces all around Utah and there are many that I look forward to returning to. Lagoon is one of those places that I love to DJ at. Why? Because there are some things that just get people excited, and being at an amusement park is on the top of many peoples list. For me, Lagoon is one of those spaces I enjoy because people come in good spirits, ready to have a good time. I’ve been lucky enough to DJ for iFit at Lagoon for the past three years and let me tell you, it’s a blast.

Who is Ifit? 

iFit is a prominent health and fitness technology company headquartered in Logan, Utah. Established in 2010, the company has gained widespread recognition for its innovative approach to providing personalized fitness solutions. iFit offers a comprehensive platform that combines interactive workouts, fitness equipment, and data-driven tracking to create a holistic fitness experience for users. What does DJing at Lagoon entail? 

I’ve had the chance to DJ at Lagoon 5 times in total thus for (Fall 2023). When it comes to Lagoon, there are some restrictions on when you can get into the park to set up and how much time you have to do so. As the park is very diverse, and because it has multiple event spaces, when I DJ at lagoon I have to usually bring 2 or 3 sound systems depending on the complexity of the event. In 2016 I did an event for a local company that had their event under 3 different pavilions. For that event, we provided a DJ in one pavilion and transmitted an audio signal to two separate pavilions on the property. So in 2017, when I was asked to DJ iFit’s event at Lagoon, I knew exactly what was needed. This year will be my third year working for Ifit at Lagoon, however we have done around a dozen events with them over the history of my company. This includes luncheons, product launches, and rebrand events among other things.

What do I love about this Event? 

I love the excitement of the attendees of this event. I’m usually located under a pavilion where dinner is being served. I play tunes and make simple announcements here and there. As a DJ, there is a certain selection of songs I don’t have a desire to play because they are a bit cliche and over the top. But at this event, playing some of the sing-along classics really goes over well and is part of the reason I get hired for this event over and over! In 2022 something really fun happened - some kiddos and their parents got up and started dancing on the stage. Over the years, it became a tradition for the kiddos and their parents to get up and dance on the stage while I’m djing and playing music. I may not always be playing dance music but they still get up and sing along and groove.
