Après Ski Park City which translates to "after ski" in French, is a term that describes the activities and socializing that takes place after a day of skiing or snowboarding. Over the last few years, it has become a big part of the skiing culture and is enjoyed by skiers and non-skiers alike. Before I share with you my top 4 Après in Park City, Utah, I want to share the history of Apres and how it has evolved over time.
The Origins of Après Ski | Apres Ski Park city
Après Ski started in the European Alps, where skiing has been a popular activity for centuries. The first recorded use of the term "après ski" was in the early 20th century in Austria. After a long day of skiing, locals and tourists would get together in small bars and restaurants or cafes to share stories, relax, and enjoy a drink or two.
Things evolved over time. Ski resorts started to offer more activities, such as live music, dancing, and games to keep visitors entertained after a day on the slopes. Now, Après Ski has become a way of life for many skiers and snowboarders, and it has started to spread to many places in the world.
In the past decade Après Ski parties have grown in Park City, Utah. Some of the locations are visited not only because Utah has some of the best snow on earth but because the Après activities and entertainment compete with some of the top places in the world.
As a DJ with experience in the Après Ski scene of Park City over the past few years, I wanted to share my top Après locations in the Deer Valley area.
The St. Regis Deer Valley - The Vintage Room
This is the place for those looking for an over the top, elevated Après experience. St. Regis is one of the more popular Après locations in Park City. To get there, take the funicular from the Deer Valley Resort Parking lot area or ski in from the Deer Valley Resort Lifts. Once there, you have multiple places to enjoy your Après. Depending on the time of year and day, St. Regis has live entertainment scattered around the property.
The most popular areas are the Terrace and the Vintage Room. Under the Terrace you’ll find live entertainment and in the Vintage Room you’ll find a DJ taking you through a musical experience unlike any other - the music matches modern club and signature Après house music vibe. Apres Ski enthusiasts flow to the vintage room just to experience it. Each winter night when the clock strikes 5:30 a bartender narrates the Napoleonic roots of champagne sabering at the Terrace; then, he strikes a blade across a sealed bottle and pours a round for the whole patio.
I (DJ CAM) may be a little biased when it comes to the Vintage Room at the St. Regis. A few friends of mine, Don Woodbury, Spencer & DJ Dolph DJ's there weekly and on occasion I've had the chance to DJ there as well. The vibes are truly unmatched. I’ve ended some sets with songs I never thought in a million years would work at an event. What the St. Regis has created is truly unique from all the other venues in Park City. The music selection is inspired by many genres of house - 2010’s house, 2000's Staples along with disco, 80’s music, Top 40 trending music, and for sure hiphop.
On any given day you’ll see 2-3 bachelorette or bachelor parties and often enough there is a line out the door with people waiting to get in. Our recommendation? Get there early. You can make the reservations here: The Vintage Room At St.Regis

The Après Lounge - Montage, Deer Valley
The Après Lounge is a charming yurt located behind the Montage in Park City, offering a cozy atmosphere for enjoying cocktails and small bites. It features black and red checkered chairs, a rustic couch, and a wooden bar, with a selection of wines and champagne to choose from. This wine Après Lounge is a fantastic place for those that are looking for a great spot to relax after a day of skiing. They don’t have any live entertainment at this time, giving you a great place to just enjoy company and relax.

Premiere Lounge & Bar and Nightlife - Park City, Utah
When it comes to the après scene in Park City, I’ve seen firsthand how Shimmer Social Society curates some of the most unforgettable events and experiences. The Cabin Park City, Bar and Concert Venue
The Cabin in Park City is one of Main Street's top destinations for those looking for great cocktails and live music.
