Hey, it's Cam,
I send this to everyone who works with me at weddings and events to set clear expectations. It’s important that everyone understands their role. You are there as an assistant to me and my team. While I may refer to you as a DJ (If you are a DJ), you are not to promote yourself to the wedding planners or anyone in attendance. You are representing DJ Cam Reeve, Reeverb Entertainment, and the BeatHive DJs brand.
Attire for Load-In:
- Avoid wearing any DJ-branded clothing unless it’s related to DJ Cam Reeve, Reeverb Entertainment, or BeatHive.
- Black shirt and black pants are preferred. Small logos like Nike or Polo are okay. If you don’t have a black shirt, a dark-colored shirt is fine, just avoid large logos. (Let me know if you need a black shirt.)
Attire for Weddings:
- Black pants with a white shirt and tie.
- Black Pants With a Black Button Up
Attire for Private Events, Colleges, Production:
- Black shirt and black pants.
Expectations:
- If you’re going to be late, please text me and let me know. Communication is key. I’m accommodating, but I need to know if plans change since I schedule hours based on everyone being there.
- Make sure you’re fresh and clean. Take shower before you come. Wear deodorant. These days can be hot and involve a lot of movement. You must not smell like drugs or alcohol at my events. If you do show up smelling that way, you might be asked to leave.
- I appreciate suggestions from DJs, but don’t be offended if I decline. Suggestions are always welcome, but please remember that our focus is on following the planner’s or client’s directions to ensure their event goes off without a problem.
- Our goal is to blend in, stay out of photos, and give the client the best dance party or product ever. You’re welcome to hang out with me, but there may be times when I’ll ask you to step aside or stay in a designated area. Let’s keep communication open.
Cable Wrapping:
Please take the time to wrap cables correctly on the load out. If you’re unfamiliar with the over-under method, you can watch this video or ask me to show you on-site. Don’t hesitate to ask questions.
