What an incredible day we had at the first-ever "Ski With a Purpose" event on Saturday, December 14th! As the DJ for Apres Ski part for this fantastic occasion, I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the energy, enthusiasm, and generosity of everyone involved. Let me take you through the highlights of this unforgettable day in beautiful Park City, Utah.
Morning Kickoff: COYI Breakfast and Viewing Party
The day began with a bang at the Weedon Ranch Barn, where guests gathered for the "Come On You Irons" (COYI) Breakfast and Viewing Party. The atmosphere was electric as West Ham United FC fans and supporters alike enjoyed a delicious breakfast while cheering on their team against Bournemouth. It was the perfect way to fuel up and get energized for the day ahead.
Carving for Charity: A Day on the Mountain
After the viewing party, attendees hit the slopes at Park City/Canyons Resort for a full day of skiing and snowboarding. Participants proudly wore their "Ski With a Purpose" bibs, making a visible statement of their support for the cause. One of the highlights was the opportunity to meet and ski alongside Olympians and celebrities, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day.
Apres-Ski DJ Celebration: Music, Mingling, and Making a Difference
As the sun began to set, everyone gathered back at the Weedon Ranch Barn for a fun Country Themed apres-ski party. As the DJ, I had the honor of providing the soundtrack for this celebratory evening. The barn was filled with the sounds of laughter, clinking glasses, and great music as attendees enjoyed food, drinks, and each other's company. During the event, representatives from the benefiting organizations - McKenna Claire Foundation, DT38 Foundation, and Park City Community Foundation shared inspiring stories about the impact of the day's fundraising efforts. It was great to see how a day of fun on the slopes could translate into real, positive change and bring awareness for these worthy causes.
A Community United
What struck me most about the "Ski With a Purpose" event was the sense of community it fostered. From die-hard soccer fans to skiing enthusiasts, from local Park City residents to visitors from afar, everyone came together with a shared goal of making a difference while enjoying a fantastic day in the mountains. As we wrapped up the night with some final tunes, I couldn't help but feel grateful to have been part of such a meaningful event. The "Ski With a Purpose" event not only provided an incredible day of entertainment and outdoor adventure but also demonstrated the power of community in supporting important causes.
