EUGENIA QUINCEAÑERA AT THE DAVIS CONFERENCE CENTER
The celebration of Eugenia's quinceañera at the Davis Conference Center was a splendid affair, marked by a seamless blend of music, Latin & dance music. For this celebration, I (DJ CAM) called on a colleague and friend to help bring the event to life with me. I focused on the production and behind the scene details while DJ Drew emcee’d and DJed the party.
My day started around 9:00 a.m. at the Davis Conference Center. Eugenia had a vision and it included a rather large lighting and sound system. The lighting included over 50 uplights, 4 moving head lights, and 8 pixel tubes placed on an X-shaped truss.
Now Drew’s focus was on MCing and DJing, so he showed up at doors open kick off at 4 PM, with guests arriving to the very thoughtfully selected and mixed welcome music. Eugenia made a grand entrance into the Davis Conference Center at 4:30 PM, capturing everyone's attention as she entered and danced with her father.
One of the incredible things about this collaboration with DJ Drew and myself (DJ Cam) was I had the opportunity to get people lined up and make things happen behind the scenes while Drew focused on both the vibes and the announcements throughout the night. Eugenia's entrance was included a welcome from DJ Drew in both English and Spanish.
Around 5:15, a heartwarming first dance took place between Eugenia and her father to the tune of ‘Por Favor no Crezcas Mas’ by Tercer Cielo, followed by ‘Tiempo De Vals’ by Chayanne.
One of my favorite parts of the evening took place around 5:30 and featured Eugenia and her friends performing choreographed dances to a medley of songs including ‘Te Extrano’ by Xtreme, ‘Gasolina’ by Daddy Yankee, and ‘Rompe’ also by Daddy Yankee, with 4 cold spark machines adding a magical touch to the atmosphere. After that, guests were treated to a fun display of acrobatics and fire spinning, with music coordinated by Hana Entertainment. This was also the time when dinner began to be served, offering a delightful culinary experience.
At 7 PM, the first round of lively banda music commenced, courtesy of Alex Venezuela and the Latin Rootes band, filling the air with fun latin music for about 45 minutes. This was followed by an open dance floor with DJ Drew on the 1’s and 2’s.
The festivities continued with a second round of banda music at 9:30, again orchestrated by Alex Venezuel and the Latin Roots banda.
The event reached its emotional peak at 11:00 with the cake cutting ceremony, preceded by heartfelt speeches from Eugenia's parents, drawing the memorable evening to a close with a blend of sweet sentiments and joyful celebration.
Big Shoutout to the team on this one!
