Experience the ultimate musical magic with the best DJ in Utah – DJ Cam Reeve!
With a name like DJ Cam Reeve, offering DJ services in Salt Lake City and other parts of Utah may seem self-explanatory. A lot of people claim to be a DJ, so what is unique about me? What makes me the best DJ in Utah and what sets me apart from all of the other DJs in the state? Why should you choose my professional DJ services over others?
To explain what makes me the best DJ in Utah, and how I choose to approach events, we need to look at two things: what you hear and what you see

What You Hear?
I love the fact that no two events are the same. Yes, there may be some crossover in musical tastes, but one of the primary things that drives my passion for DJing is playing sets that are unique to each couple. As part of my process, I will typically request music 14 days before the event so that I can do a deep dive into your ideas and “must play” songs in order to create a soundtrack that will get even your biggest wall-sitters out on the dance floor.
I could try to explain my mixing, but you know what might be a bit easier (and way more fun)? Taking a listen to my live sets on Mixcloud, recorded directly from the dance floor at some of my past events.
As the best DJ in Utah, I don’t just show up and hit play. I’m taking the time to think through your schedule and your dance floor with your musical tastes in mind. You wouldn’t show up to speak in public without at least a timeline, some thoughts written down, and maybe a little structure! I feel the same way about DJing. And even though the nature of DJing will undoubtedly bring about some musical left turns as I read the crowd and adapt to what’s happening around me, I’m putting in most of my work before I get to the event so that I am prepared and ready to rock!
Beyond prepping all the music to get you and all your guests dancing, there are many variables that go into ensuring that an event sounds good – both from a music perspective and for whatever is being said over a microphone. My skills and background in the A/V world give me an advantage over other DJs when it comes to these things. There aren’t many other DJs who will walk though your venue and be willing to say, “While yes, this location may seem like the best option for photos, this might not translate to the best overall experience for those in attendance.”
Going even a step further, we could talk about the different types of lapel microphones or adjusting sound with a 32-band EQ to prevent feedback, but I will digress. Just know that if you are feeling overwhelmed thinking about these things, there are a lot of DJs who do as well.
The point of all of this? Not everyone who claims to be the “best DJ in Utah” has the production background that I do. While it doesn’t necessarily make or break a DJ (especially if you aren’t hiring him or her for any production work), I do personally understand these finer details and can work closely with those that you’ve hired to make sure your event is successful.
Anyone can buy the equipment. But knowing the limits of the gear, how to use it, when to use it, and how to troubleshoot it when something goes wrong are important pieces of the overall experience. While I would love to tell you equipment will always work perfectly, in reality, that’s not the case. Think about your household electronics. Things happen. But it’s how I can react, either with backups or processes in place to transition smoothly, that sets me apart.

1 Thing to consider on boundaries (Weddings)
“Not every event is for me. I’m not here to try and DJ seven weddings in a week.”
If someone is bragging about DJing four weddings in a week, five weeks in a row, and has a full-time job on top of that, I suggest that you RUN. They probably aren’t going to give you the attention that you may need or want.
