What is a CO2 Cannon?
If you've been to a nightclub or festival in the past decade or so you've most likely seen a CO2 cannon going off during the biggest musical climaxes or drops. Usually placed near the stage, CO2 cannons or CO2 guns spray compressed carbon dioxide (the stuff adding fizz to your favorite bubbly drink) into the crowd to both emphasize big musical moments and cool down the audience. Much safer than traditional pyrotechnics, CO2 cannons add a new dimension to the concert and festival experience. If you've seen them, then you know they make the crowd go absolutely wild!
CO2 Cannons at Private Events
Like many tools in a DJ's arsenal, CO2 cannons have become more available and accessible over recent years. Now, your favorite mobile DJ (AKA DJ Cam) can bring this exciting technology to your event. Types of CO2 Cannons
DJ Cam offers two types of CO2 guns for clients. Both are high-energy additions to your production package, but they work in different ways.
Micro CO2 Jet MKII
The Micro CO2 Jet MKII works similarly to the CO2 cannons you have seen at other events. It is normally placed on a stage or totem and shot into the crowd. The CO2 is fired in short 1-2 second bursts (between 10-15 shots throughout the night), so the Micro CO2 Jet lasts longer than other options. Keep in mind that it requires a second laborer and takes a longer time to set up, something not every venue has time for. However, the replicated festival feel is something that is hard to match with any other option!
Club Cannon CO2 Guns
The Club Cannon CO2 gun is a little different from the Micro CO2 Jet. It's a handheld option that works best to highlight you or someone special at the event at one singular point. When the energy in the room has been built up, we can use the CO2 gun to accent a big bass drop and catch the guests by surprise. We'll hand you the Club Cannon and let you fire off a couple of short spurts as the song builds. Once it drops, you can unleash the full tank in one continuous spray! It's only about 20 seconds of continuous shooting, but the effect and energy is unmatched by anything else.
